morning smoothie recipe
Smoothies are my thing. I love them. I constantly crave them. They’re just so good.
But for real, what I really love about them is how easy they are and how versatile they can be! I am not a huge breakfast person, rarely do I eat a big breakfast. I don’t eat before I workout so after, I gravitate towards a good smoothie filled with all the goods to fill me up and keep me full until my next meal. I like to add in as many supplements and “the good things for you” as I can. I find it’s so easy to do in a smoothie and to get it all in, in one easy step!
The most important part of my smoothie is the protein. The protein is what makes it more of a “meal replacement” for breakfast, it is what fills me up, and what helps my body recover after a workout. Protein is a must for so many different reasons, but find the protein that works best for you! For me, the Orgain Protein Powder has been a game changer. I had tried multiple different powders before trying Orgain and actually, TJ ( Justi’s husband ) had used this one and got me hooked on it. I use the chocolate flavor & it’s by far the best tasting powder to me. It is a vegan, plant based protein. It is dairy, soy, gluten, and lactose free & that right there is amazing. It is also non-GMO and has zero grams of sugar… can we get an amen for that! The protein is made with pea protein, chia seeds, brown rice, cocoa, and is completely organic! So there is all the reasons why I love this protein and wanted to share it with you girls! Enjoy xo
Here is the morning smoothie that has been my go-to for a while now.
I make this almost daily and haven’t gotten sick of it yet, which is a shocker in and of itself!
Joy’s Morning Smoothie :
Half of a Frozen Banana
Frozen Spinach and Kale ( I find chopped frozen greens at Trader Joe’s! )
Unsweetened Vanilla Almond Milk ( I use Califia Farms )
Throw it all in a blended and you’ve got yourself a delicious breakfast or mid-day snack!
